Dr. John J. Palmer has been in private practice since he graduated at the top of his class from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry in 1982. His office incorporates the latest technology to offer his guests comfortable, personalized dental treatment with the most biocompatible materials available.
Dr. Palmer has completed advanced training in Comprehensive Cosmetic Techniques at the Baylor University. He also attended the prestigious
Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.
In 1997, Dr. Palmer was one of the first dentists in the United States to incorporate CEREC (computer –generated one-visit porcelain restorations) into his practice.
Dr. Palmer safely removes silver/mercury fillings using protocols established by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. Throughout his work, he realizes that what happens in the oral cavity can systematically affect the patient’s entire body. His practice philosophy includes using state-of-the-art laser and ozone technology to treat periodontal and many chronic oral inflammatory disease known to increase risk factors for other common medical conditions. Dr. Palmer established the region’s first Center for Dental Medicine and did so to build a bridge between the medical and dental communities. This benefits patients by identifying diseases of the mouth that have the potential to cause disease in other parts of the body.
Dr. Palmer maintains membership in the American Dental Association, Omicron Upsilon Dental Honor Society, Holistic Dental Association, and is an Accredited member of The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. Dr. Palmer is also a member of the International Association of Mercury Safe Dentists.
